Community Action Duluth held a news conference outside the Gerald W. Heaney Federal Building, Friday, January 27, 2012, to celebrate Earned Income Tax Credit Awareness Day and highlight the start of Free Tax Prep. FOX-21, KBJR and WDIO sent reporters and photographers. A project of the Tax Site and Community Engagement teams, the news conference and its lead-up press releases generated television coverage as well as print articles in the Budgeteer paper. We picked the location because there's an IRS office inside the Federal Building. It also has a view of the Ordean Building, location of the newest tax site!
