Description of Class Material:

Budgeting to Create Savings

Learn how to create a workable budget and begin saving. Create a cash flow chart that can help if you live check-to-check and start using a monthly debt and spending tracker sheet to stop spending leaks. Understand how spending does not bring happiness and how to resist falling prey to the small print of advertising. Also learn about tax basics and financial records.

Debt Reduction and Asset Building

Learn how to improve your net worth, handle and prioritize your debt and the importance of building assets. Find out how to improve your debt-to-income ratio and how to build assets through home ownership, higher education or a paid-off car. Learn how retirement plans, savings accounts and investments are assets that can build financial security for your future.

Building a good Credit Rating

Access to affordable credit is only as good as your credit rating. Learn about the Fair Credit Reporting Act, your rights under it and find out how to improve your credit score. Get a free copy of your credit report and learn how to interpret it.
