Do you need time to refocus and plan your future?
This workshop is designed to slow down the day-to-day struggle as you gain knowledge and new skills that will help you meet your goals and live your best life. It will change the way you view yourself and the community around you by providing an understanding of the hidden rules of class and looking seriously at the socio-economic barriers created to keep poverty in place.
How does it work?
This 20 session workshop brings participants (investigators) to the table to discuss the impact of poverty. The process provides investigators an opportunity to view poverty critically and objectively. It identifies that personal barriers do exist; however, it also takes into account the systemic barriers that continue to keep poverty in place.
As you move through the process, you will develop new tools to handle systemic barriers and a personal plan of action to move out of poverty towards self sufficiency.
Towards the end of the process, using a well-rounded understanding of the hidden rules of class and insight on how to navigate class distinctions, you will develop a concrete poverty exit plan.
