HOPE VI IDA Matched Savings Account

HOPE VI IDA is a matched savings account designed for people who were living at Harbor View public housing at the time the HOPE VI project was approved. HOPE VI IDA matched savings accounts were set up to help Harbor View residents save enough money to purchase a home of their own.

How it works

When you deposit money in a HOPE VI matched savings account, the HOPE VI program also adds money. HOPE VI offers a 3:1 savings match, which means for every dollar you save in your Individual Development Account, HOPE VI adds three dollars. With a HOPE VI matched savings account, you will be asked to save $30 per month for one to three years; HOPE VI will add $90 per month, for a total savings of $120 per month. In four years, you will have a total of $5,760 available to purchase a home.
