Our Benefits Outreach team recently assisted John with an application for SNAP, cash/emergency assistance, and MNsure. He had lost is job several months ago and was unable to return to work due to some health problems. We helped him apply for health coverage so he could seek medical care for his physical health issues.
John also begin to receive SNAP benefits, which will improve his access to food. This has improved his diet, which will help him improve some of his health problems.
Additionally, John was behind on his rent and utilities. This isn't something our programs are able to help with directly, but we were able to put him in touch with resources to assist him with his rent and utilities.
